• Eczema

    Eczema is a chronic skin disorder characterized by itchy rashes, which may be red, scaly, dry, or sometimes quite leathery. Eczema sufferers sometimes get skin blisters which ooze and get crusty as well. It’s not a pretty sight and is very painful and embarrassing in many situations. Eczema is not, however, a contagious condition. There are many ways to treat eczema naturally so let’s have a look.

    Eczema is also known as atopic eczema, atopic dermatitis or infantile eczema. It usually occurs for the first time in infants, with rashes typically occurring on their cheeks, elbows or knees. Eczema, although often less of a problem for adults, can persist, especially if a person is exposed to allergens or chemical irritants or is under a lot of stress. With adults, eczema is most often located on the inner elbow or behind the knee.

    Here are some remedies for eczema, some are tips and others are home remedies for eczema;

    1. Ginger – Some swear by ginger tea and others who do not like the taste of it buy ginger in capsule form and take that instead. For some this has proved to be a permanent remedy for eczema, where other remedies only worked temporarily.

    2. Honey – this can be applied directly to the affected skin areas and left on for a while (a few hours may be ideal so you may want to cover the area after application so as not to get honey on everything you may touch). Honey has natural antiseptic properties that help to clear up the eczema.

    3. Avoid things you may be allergic to – allergies can bring on bouts of eczema so if you are aware of things that you are allergic to be sure to stay away from them.

    4. Avoid Foods that can bring on allergies – types of food that typically bring on allergies are nuts, eggs , preservatives, dairy products and citrus fruits. If there are any other foods that you know you are allergic to then definitely avoid these as well.

    5. Coconut Oil – has healing properties and can be applied directly to the affected areas.

    6. Sunshine – sunshine in moderated amounts can also help with eczema. Be sure not to overdo this and create sunburn issues for your skin.

    7. Witch Hazel – some native Americans swear by this method for treating eczema naturally. You apply this directly to the affected areas.

    8. Shea Butter – this is another effective natural treatment for eczema in which you apply the product directly to the affected area. Make sure that you use 100% pure Shea butter.

    9. Lemon Juice – can be applied directly to the affected areas and left on overnight. This promotes the healing of the eczema.

    10. Probiotics – probiotics help to restore the balance in your digestive system between the good and bad bacteria which is essential to help your body eliminate the toxins that you are exposed to which could be leading to your eczema problem.
