    With our current society’s obsession with how someone looks is it any wonder that many people suffer with eating disorders? With this post I intend to offer you eating disorder help including treatment for anorexia, as well as bulimia treatment using natural healing remedies.

    While eating disorders involve obsessive behaviors regarding food intake and body-image, they are often deeply rooted in emotional issues of control, self-esteem and self-criticism. (Noticeably these days many teens seem to be less concerned judging by the way they are dressing, many not making any effort to hide their “muffin tops” / belly fat around the waist.)

    4. Family – sometimes pressure is put on a person by those in their family to have a certain physical look. Sometimes it is an issue of the family not dealing with emotions that causes someone to look to food as their comfort.

    5. Perfectionism – if a person is a perfectionist this can lead to eating disorders where they sacrifice themselves in order to get that “perfect” body.

    What are some of the negative effects of having an eating disorder? The main problem is that eating disorders create a condition of malnutrition which affects all of your organs and then can lead to many of the following issues;

     

    1. Amenorrhea – lack of menstruation

    2. Constipation & bloating

    3. Headaches

    4. Lowered immunity

    5. Kidney stones or kidney failure

    6. Love blood pressure

    7. Heart palpitations

    8. Heart failure

    9. Dry skin

    10. Brittle nails

    11. Thinning hair

    12. Brittle hair

    13. Cold temperature sensitivity

    14. Electrolyte imbalances: low potassium, sodium and magnesium

    15. Nerve damage

    16. Suicidal thoughts

    17. Fatigue

    18. Mood Swings

    19. Teeth enamel problems

    The best approach to fighting and beating any eating disorder is a holistic one that incorporates various treatment options, as well as healthy lifestyle changes such as daily exercise, a balanced diet and new constructive ways of dealing with negative emotions.
