• Fungal Infections

    Chances are that you may have never had to deal with a fungal infection, although, I am sure you know at least one person that has, as they are very common and very contagious. They are typically not life-threatening and are more of a pest than anything else. However, for those with compromised immune systems they can lead to more serious health issues so should definitely be nipped in the bud.

    Fortunately there are many natural remedies available for getting these situations under control and getting rid of fungal infections is something you can be confident that you can take care of without harmful drugs.

    Fungal infections most often occur in moist, dark and warm environments and they also thrive under these conditions.

    Some very common and typical kinds of fungal infections, along with the areas they infect on the human body, are athlete’s foot which affects the callused areas of the feet, jock itch which affects the groin region, yeast infections are typical in the vagina and thrush which affects the mouth.

    Some of the more typical symptoms and signs of an infection on the human body are the presence of a persistent itching sensation, an irritation and flaking of the skin, and on the skin itself eruptions form with raised borders. Very tiny, moist and red blisters result when flare-ups occur. This can be a very irritating condition to deal with.

    Let’s look at some of the more common causes of fungal infections;

    1. Fungi – that live in the air, the soil, on plants and even in the human body.

    2. Antibiotics – these, in killing off bad bacteria, also manage to kill off the good bacteria that our bodies need.

    3. Obesity – obese people tend to have pockets of fat overlapping creating a warm and moist environment conducive to the development of fungal infections.

    4. Poor personal physical hygiene – it is important to bathe daily and dry yourself properly to avoid fungal infections.

    5. Tight Clothing – be sure to wear loose clothing that allows your body to “breathe”, preferably made of cotton.
